This role will start immediately once we find the right candidate and run until May 29, 2026. Total approximate hours for this contract is 960 (which is approximately 30-35 hours/week minus stat holidays and office closure between Christmas and New Years)

PowerShifter is seeking a contract UX Technical Solutions Architect to guide the delivery of a large-scale digital transformation initiative through its Discovery and early Implementation phases. This role operates at the intersection of technology, design, and business strategy, ensuring that solution feasibility, user experience, and organizational objectives remain aligned across multiple concurrent workstreams.

This is a contract engagement anticipated to run through the completion of the Discovery Phase, with the potential for extension into subsequent implementation work.

What you will do

  • Facilitate and synthesize outputs from cross-functional business and technical workshops.

  • Translate customer and experience goals into actionable, technically feasible plans.

  • Collaborate with internal technology, design, and business stakeholders to shape implementation plans, resource needs, and delivery sequencing.

  • Define front-end capabilities, design system standards, and architectural recommendations.

  • Recommend a design system framework that supports consistency across multiple delivery streams and teams.

  • Advise on Contentful content modeling and map content types to front-end components and user workflows.

  • Produce a high-level implementation plan that informs the next SOW. Include scope outline, phasing, skills and resourcing mix, effort and cost ranges, risks, and key assumptions.

  • Serve as PowerShifter’s lead representative in ensuring all streams remain strategically aligned, technically sound, and deliverable within enterprise constraints.

  • Provide ongoing status updates to the client lead (delivery accountability remains to the client technology team).

Deliverables you own

  • Technical workshop agendas and facilitation

  • Front-end capability and component mapping

  • Front-end architectural recommendations

  • Design system framework guidance for multi-stream consistency

  • Contentful content model recommendations and mappings

  • High-level implementation plan and SOW inputs covering scope, phasing, effort and cost ranges, skills, risks, and assumptions

Not in scope

  • Business workshop synthesis or reports

  • Generic PM deliverables for the overall program

  • Hands-on coding or build tasks

Reporting and collaboration

  • Reports into the client PM for coordination and status

  • Accountable to client technology leadership for technical deliverables

  • Partners with client architects and SMEs to ensure alignment with the overall solution architecture

  • Supported by Power Shifter technical leadership as needed for validation

What you bring

  • 6 plus years in front-end architecture or technical consulting

  • Strong background with component-based frameworks such as React or Vue

  • Experience defining and governing design systems at scale

  • Comfort with headless CMS, ideally Contentful, including content modeling and structured content delivery

  • Excellent facilitation, documentation, and communication skills with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to map business and CX intent to feasible front-end solutions across multiple streams

Nice to have

  • Insurance or other regulated industry experience
  • Familiarity with Next.js, performance optimization, and accessibility standards

Compensation

$75.00 - $85.00 per hour
